Today, as part of New York Men’s Day at Industria Studios, Chapter presented its AW15 collection, UNKNOWN, featuring 17 looks for men and 6 looks interpreted on the female form.
The brand, in its fifth season, is the brainchild of Frank Delgadillo guided by a collective of modern minds including creative director Devin Carlson and his design team in Southern California.
The presentation featured outerwear, basics and the brand’s signature cropped pants in a neutral color palette of black, grey and dark tones of purple, blue and green. The focus was on over-sized silhouettes and features, asymmetrical cuts, and raw, exposed details that brought to life the sci-fi and cyberpunk roots that inspired the collection’s design.
The NYMD installation was an extension of the thought process behind the collection’s design: sterile, pod-like structures brought to mind a dystopian environment where uncertainty is everywhere. The angular lines of the presentation space were in harsh juxtaposition with the asymmetrical detailing and raw finishes found throughout the collection, leading the eye – and the mind – on an almost unsettling journey through the world of UNKNOWN.
