Chapter’s S/S 2016 collection, DISPLACEMENT, represents a reflection of our past and a look to the future. Inspired by visual refraction and mirroring, the design story is one that signifies the unrelenting drive and evolution of the brand’s ethos as we move into a space that is just beyond the familiar. The collection’s silhouettes take on a boxier shape with tops and a more tailored approach to bottoms, producing an inverted effect that evokes comfort and style. Three-dimensional patterns throughout the line are inspired by the repetitive geometry found in the reflections of a kaleidoscope, but blurred for a more subtle effect. Linen, rayon, cotton and synthetic blended knits in deep, rich colors of plum, blood, lavender, navy and olive are over-dyed to give a worn opulence to each piece.
And there is black, of course. Always black.
