Chapter’s Spring/Summer 2017 collection, DISCORD, looks at the juxtaposition of a city’s harsh architectural lines intersecting with the spirit of socialization and human interaction. Where form and disarray meet in a place of balance and harmony.
Inspired by 90s culture and the cinematography of Baz Luhrmann’s Romeo + Juliet, in particular, the collection brings this concept to life through the use of unorthodox, structured silhouettes counterbalanced by soft, malleable details such as embroidery, raw detailing, washing and printing.
The silhouettes represent an evolution of Chapter’s staple pieces that are more refined but still very much in the vein of past collections. Pants with a slightly wider leg opening, tops featuring new linen blends, and the introduction of mustard as a key addition to the seasonal color palette.
